New York Sea Grant (NYSG) is pleased to announce its Special Research Call for 2027-2028 Specifically Addressing Applied Economic Analysis of New York’s Coastal Resources.
For this special research call, NYSG seeks applied economic research projects (including exploratory and/or descriptive research methods) that evaluate the economic value, impacts, and development opportunities associated with New York’s coastal and marine resources and investments. Proposed research should generate actionable economic insights that can inform policy, planning, and management decisions at the community, state, and/ or regional levels. Of particular interest are studies that quantify economic benefits, costs, and tradeoffs; identify barriers to growth or implementation; and/or evaluate the potential economic outcomes of removing those barriers or investing in coastal and marine initiatives.
Projects may include economic valuation, cost–benefit analysis, economic impact modeling, and/or the development of decision-support tools that help communities and policymakers assess the economic implications of coastal and marine management strategies.
Submission Deadline: LOIs are due by 5:00 PM, May 4, 2026. LOIs cannot be submitted after the deadline. Any incomplete submissions will not be considered. You are encouraged to apply early! Submissions via e-mail or hard copy are not accepted.
